About Bill Matthews

William H. Matthews, Ph.D., is the author of Don't Step in the Entremanure. After spending a few years as a teacher and coach, Bill Matthews entered the business world, where he gained a wide range of experience. He served as a high-level executive and corporate officer for a Fortune 500 company, president of a privately-held regional financial services business that was purchased by a publicly-traded corporation, and also spent a few years in a small family-owned enterprise.

With that broad base of managerial exposure, he was invited by Clay Mathile, former owner of The Iams Company, to help create and launch Aileron (www.aileron.org). Based in Dayton, Ohio, Aileron is a not-for-profit entity whose focus is the implementation of professional management systems in privately-owned businesses. During his years with Aileron, Bill has worked with the leaders of hundreds of businesses to assist them with professional management, strategic planning, and the establishment of outside boards.
